Legend in My Mind

After a couple weeks off, deer hunting and clearing our minds, Rick and Duane were back at it last night cutting the vocal tracks to "Legend in my Mind". We would like to welcome Phil to the mix. He is going to work with Duane on the recording side using the Tascam 2488. Cool!

A tune Duane wrote in April 5th 2003. Duane states “I have used the term I am a legend in my own mind for some time. Meaning basically that it still takes 50 cents or a dollar to get a cup of coffee no matter how many awards you win or achievements you accomplish. So with that said the one place where one can be a legend at all times is in their mind. A safe and enjoyable place – well most of the time”.

Last night Rick came in with word changes. Since he is the lead vocal on this one it really gave the song a different view.

This is the opening to the song:

Doesn’t Matter Where You Go Doesn’t Matter what I say
I’m a legend in my
own mind and I like it this way
It Doesn’t Matter Where You
Go It Doesn’t Matter what I say
I’m a legend in
my own mind and I like it that way

Oooooh ohhhhh O Oooooh ohhhhh O
Oooooh ohhhhh Yeah Yeah Oooooh ohhhhh Yeah Yeah

You can say whatcha want. Believe what you say
But I’m a legend in my own mind and I like it this way
Ya You can say what you want. Believe what you say
I’m a legend in my own mind and I like it that way

All that is left on this one is a lead guitar track and Dom’s high background vocals. Not sure when we’ll be back in the studio….. stay tuned!
